how glossy the plastic – ginger ko – garden-door press, 2019

dense, not small. ginger ko’s chap slides right in any pocket yet you’d be pressed to make this work fit into anything. how glossy the plastic bursts with the sort of spiraling interests only the most curious nerd could ever stash in one mind, or a poet who recognizes more keenly than most how much is in play and at stake within the experiences we smooth over until they can be named politics, or history. there is a lot of the body, the land in its anatural state, and the antagonisms between them that we’ve heard before but here they are bent through too-strong lenses recovered from the back of the science lab. how glossy settles uneasy against you as you fiddle with the focus and i was left wondering: are these words soluble in me or am i dissolving into them?
